This is a really interesting 19thC ebonised bobbin open armchair. It has obviously seen a lot of use and love in its life, but has still got a lot to give. The work that has gone into the bobbin turning is amazing and the patina wear to the arms is gorgeous.
The seat is really deep making it easy to sink into, although it does benefit from some soft furnishings.
The whole frame is sturdy and the webbing is firm even though the seat is not upholstered. The sheepskin rug and cushion can be included if wished. The arms have original upholstery which is worn.
One of the bobbin turned back sticks has been replaced, there is a little damage where one of the arms is attached to the back, there is an old repair to one of the back legs, and the castors are mis-matched (although appear to be period).
Approximate dimensions are: depth 72 cm, width 62 cm, back height 103 cm, seat height 30 cm.
